The technique of using multiple imagery has different meanings depending on the medium. So for image projection the technique can use multiple projectors to project different images onto the same screen or to project images side by side to make a large landscape. My multiple images use a variety of different images that are merged in a mixture of ways in photoshop to make one final image. For example I have taken pictures of a girl sitting on a table in the studio and taken a second image of a grave stone plinth and merged the two so that it looks like the girl is sitting on the grave stone.
This is the image of the girl that was shot in the studio sitting on a table. This shows the rough cut out. It was shot in a dark studio with one hard light as I knew I would be doing the same when shooting the gravestone and to make the multiple image work I wanted to match the light sources.
This is the image of the grave stone shot at night.
Here is my final image. I flipped the girl to match the direction of the light and adjusted the brightens and contrast of each layer in Photoshop so that they looked like a good match. I also knocked out the side of the church as this made the image a bit cluttered.
